BEST FRIENDS OF TRENTON

In creating this design for the "Best Friends of Trenton" campaign to support local farmers, I embraced the challenge of crafting a retro aesthetic that harkens back to the mid-20th century. I chose a halftone technique for its nostalgic charm and its ability to convey a sense of grassroots authenticity, which was crucial for resonating with the community-oriented message of the campaign. Through this project, I sharpened my skills in manipulating Photoshop patterns to create the desired grayscale effect within the cow illustration, learning to utilize free assets to convey depth and texture without the use of color.

The chipper cow character was drawn to evoke the classic feel of vintage advertisements, conveying a sense of warmth and familiarity essential for a community campaign. I complemented this with a carefully selected typeface that echoes the vintage vibe, ensuring it worked harmoniously with the image. This project was a significant step in my design journey, enhancing my proficiency in software like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and deepening my understanding of retro elements and how they can be leveraged to create a compelling and engaging design.
